Hi, I’m Sam - a Software Engineer from the UK.
I’ve been writing software professionally since around 2012, primarily working with C# in enterprise environments. For personal projects, I also enjoy exploring different programming languages and trying out new things - Rust and Go are generally my go to choices in recent years. Over time I’ve also taken on more of a DevOps role, developing the platform and ecosystem that get’s our code into production and in front of the clients.
Recently, there’s been a lot of publicity around modern advances in generative AI which has really piqued my interest in the subject of the machine learning that drives all of this. I’m currently expanding my ML experience and looking at how to apply to some projects that I have had in the works.
Disclaimer
I’ve always been keen to learn new things but don’t always have a lot to show for it. This is my attempt to keep myself motivated and on track to realise my goals.
It’s also just a place for me to shout out into the void and ramble on about things that I find interesting without boring friends and family who really aren’t that interested in any of it.
You might find that the content of this blog isn’t for you, and you’d probably be right. At the end of the day it’s just an opportunity for me to look back and reflect on what I’ve learned while I figure out what I still need to learn. It’s generally an account of what I think is useful and presented in a way that I think get’s the point across effectively. If someone else finds any of this useful or gains any benefit from it in any way, well that’s a bonus!
